The GMEC establishes the GMEC Internal Review Committee to perform internal reviews and report to the GMEC.

Description:

  1. The GMEC creates a Internal Review Committee which will be chaired by a program director from one of the core programs who is also a member of the GMEC. Membership will include residents, other faculty, other program directors and representatives from the administration of the teaching hospitals.
  2. The GMEC Internal Review Committee will create a protocol that is to be used at the internal reviews and is approved the ACGME and by the GMEC.
  3. The internal reviews will be done midway between program site visits. The Committee will report their findings to the GMEC at each GMEC meeting. The GMEC will ensure that all citations or issues that are found in the internal review process will be resolved.
