Pain Management Residency
Back to Policies and Procedures
Intent:
The ACMGE requires an institutional policy governing the educational resources committed to pain management.
Policy Statement:
The University of Florida wishes to maintain a Pain Management Training program. Because pain management is a multidisciplinary approach to a common problem, there must be cooperation of all involved disciplines needed to provide the educational resources for a pain management-training program.
Description:
- The institution which is to provide a training program of the highest caliber for residents seeking training in pain management . This may require cooperation from a number of faculty in different disciplines and access to patients with a variety of medical problems.
- Should their be issues about resources, the pain management residency program director should bring this to the attention of the Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education who then will work through the Graduate Medical Education Committee and the Dean's office to resolve these issues.
